Interesting, over the years, there has been similiar concerns during wet weather operation. I have always wondered if the savage is haunted by carb icing. Polar Pilot can tell you more exactly what the conditions are that can cause it. But basically it is freezing the moisture out of the air onto the metal carburetor parts due the temp drop of the venturi action in the carb. Will show up from 50 deg with high humidity on down in temperature past freezing. When the engine slows down the air speed through the carb changes and the freezing may stop and engine heat melt the evidence. So was it humid on the day you had the problem? Max
